James Owen Abrahamson is a ThM graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and for nearly three decades has been the pastor/teacher of the Chapel Hill Bible Church near the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC. Though retired from his position at the church, he continues to preach in the Chapel Hill area, write, and teach a regular class at his church.
Jim has served as a church consultant, been a part of the adjunct faculty at UNC’s continuing education in religion, and has written and contributed to several books – Put Your Best Foot Forward (Abingdon Press, 1994), Quest Study Bible (Zondervan, 1994), Growing Your Church through Evangelism and Outreach (Edited by Marshall Shelley, Moorings, 1996), Lessons in Leadership (Edited by Randal Roberts, 1999, Kregel), Peace Seekers (Light Messages, 2010). He and his wife (Ceecy) have three grown children and four grandchildren.
The passion and theme of Jim’s teaching has been “the grace of God” and “the power of Christ’s Spirit through the teaching of Scripture” to inspire lives to peace, worship, and service. The theme and content of this book is the heart of much of what he has been saying for three decades of ministry. Jim is committed to a lifestyle of learning, modeling, and teaching to equip believers so they can live authentic Christian lives as ambassadors of God’s Kingdom in this world. His website is apttoteach.org. This book is the second of a two part series, which includes a first book Peace Seekers.
