Peggy Call and her husband lived in four countries of North Africa: Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria and Mauritania from 1961 till 2000.
While her husband served as pastor, translator, and teacher during those years, she entertained an almost steady stream of guests. Their son attended French schools until the age of 16.
While teaching at the University of Nouakchott, Mauritania, she founded and managed an English language bookstore called, “Shakespeare and Company” as a non-profit service to university students of English and English teachers. She also was able to fulfill a dream from childhood. She learned to reproduce on paper the beauties of the landscapes, as well as the weathered faces of the Sahara Desert.
